Unit 11: Gases

Objectives:

  1. I know how a gas differs from a solid and liquid.

  2. I know how the kinetic molecular theory describes gas particles.

  3. I know the four parameters used to describe gas samples, their symbols, and their units (P, T, V, n).

  4. I know Boyle’s law and can describe what it states and can calculate gas law problems that require it.

  5. I know Charles’ law and can describe what it states and can calculate gas law problems that require it.

  6. I know Gay-Lussac’s law and can describe what it states and can calculate gas law problems that require it.

  7. I know Avogadro’s law and can describe what it states and can calculate gas law problems that require it.

  8. I know that Charles’ and Gay-Lussac’s law only work if the temperature is stated in Kelvin. I can convert degree Celsius to Kelvin and back.
