Microscopy

This week will focus on observing prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells that you’ve learned about over the past few weeks for the first few days then finish out with a test covering the chemistry of life, properties of water, and biological macromolecules.

BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:

  • define all terms from the previous 8 weeks,

  • review the essential differences between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells while differentiating the types of cells in prokaryotes and eukaryotes, and

  • be ready for your test reviewing the items listed above.

Week 9 - Biology

Your Week Ahead

Day 1: Microscopy Lab

  1. You’ll get to see your quiz from last week and the results of your significant figures reassess (for those that took it). You’ll then use the day to work on your microscope lab. I’ll check your week 8 work in the beginning of class.

  2. After class, work on Journal 5 that is due next week. Finish it before the long weekend!

Day 2: Continuing Microscopy Lab

  1. You’ll use class to work on your microscope lab!

  2. After class, finish your journal.

Day 3: Microscopy Lab

  1. Use this time to see how many more slides you’re able to draw. Do you feel like you’re getting better at using the microscope?

  2. Have a great fall break!

IMPORTANT DATES

Test on 10/21 or 10/22 covering chemistry, water, and macromolecules.

Did you…?

  • … finish your journal before the fall break weekend and answer the big idea in the back of week 9 (and all other previous weeks, which you’ve hopefully been doing?? If so, you’ve got nothing else to do this week; enjoy the break!!
