Terrestrial & Aquatic Biomes
We’ll learn how to differentiate terrestrial and aquatic biomes, and discuss how energy is transferred within a given ecosystem.
BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:
use all of your appropriate terminology up until this point,
identify the two abiotic factors that differentiate terrestrial biomes and the three abiotic factors that differentiate aquatic biomes,
differentiate the ten terrestrial biomes, and
differentiate the myriad of aquatic biomes. Notice that this category has habitat named within other habitats (e.g. a marsh is a type of wetland).
Week 22 - Biology
Your Week Ahead
Day 1: Central Dogma Quiz
We’ll begin class with you taking your quiz coding a sequence of DNA. I’ll then check your DNA extraction lab from last week and the meiosis lab from the previous week.
AFTER CLASS, read the Week 22 terms to know on aquatic biomes to prepare for tomorrow’s class.
ALSO AFTER CLASS, find a habitat to journal about that has some connection to the colder weather and habitat changes you see from winter. I’ll be checking this next Monday.
Day 2: Terrestrial Biomes
You’ll use today to familiarize yourself with the diverse terrestrial biomes that exist on this planet.
AFTER CLASS, read the remaining terms to know on week 22 to prepare yourself for tomorrow’s class on aquatic biomes.
Day 2: Aquatic Biomes
We’ll use today to differentiate the aquatic biomes that exist on the planet.
AFTER CLASS, begin studying for your test next week’s Day 3!
