Terrestrial & Aquatic Biomes

We’ll learn how to differentiate terrestrial and aquatic biomes, and discuss how energy is transferred within a given ecosystem.

BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:

  • use all of your appropriate terminology up until this point,

  • identify the two abiotic factors that differentiate terrestrial biomes and the three abiotic factors that differentiate aquatic biomes,

  • differentiate the ten terrestrial biomes, and

  • differentiate the myriad of aquatic biomes. Notice that this category has habitat named within other habitats (e.g. a marsh is a type of wetland).

Week 22 - Biology

Your Week Ahead

Day 1: Genetics Quiz

  1. We’ll begin class with you taking your quiz coding a sequence of DNA. I’ll then check your work from the previous weeks.

  2. AFTER CLASS, study the content for transcribing and translating a genetic sequence of DNA for your next quiz.

  3. ALSO AFTER CLASS, complete journal 9 sometime this week; I’ll grade it next Monday.

Day 2: Terrestrial & Aquatic Biomes

  1. You’ll use today to familiarize yourself with the diverse biomes that exist on this planet.

  2. After class, finish reviewing biomes, complete your journal, and study for your test next week!

We don’t have a Day 3 this week due to the inclement weather this past weekend.

IMPORTANT DATES

Biology Test on Meiosis, Genetics & Inheritance, DNA Structure, DNA Replication, and the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology next week’s Thursday/Friday (2/5 or 2/6).

Did you…?

  • … finish your content for terrestrial and aquatic biomes?
