The Cell Cycle
Your final week of content before the Thanksgiving break will include a lab reviewing the process of cell respiration and introducing your final large topic for the semester, the cell cycle!
BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:
describe the cyclical nature of a cell’s life,
compare how prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells differ in this process, and
list the stages of a cell’s cycle in chronological order, including the three stages of interphase, the two stages of M phase, and the steps within mitosis (prophase, metaphase, anaphase, & telophase).
Week 15 - Biology
Your Week Ahead
Day 1: Assess Your Knowledge
We’ll start with a fun lab where you’ll see the carbon dioxide that you create in your own respiration. No homework afterwards.
Day 2: The Cell Cycle
You’ll spend the day learning about the cell cycle, a topic that we’ll continue with after Thanksgiving.
Enjoy the break!
IMPORTANT DATES
Quiz and Test coming when we return on the pathways of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. Quiz on tables will be your Day 3 of week 16 and your test with drawing pathways will be your day one of week 17.
Did you…?
… finish the cell respiration lab? Make sure you completed figure 14.3, your line graph of the data.
