Welcome to 6th Grade Science!

This week we will be learning to navigate our classroom resources and think like a scientist! We will learn to navigate through our webpage, set up our Google Classroom and Science Journal, and learn to distinguish between terms such as qualitative and quantitative data, subjective and objective information, and observations and inferences.

BY THE END OF THIS WEEK, you should be able to:

  • know where to find your syllabus, assignments, notes, and vocabulary

  • set up your science journal and know where to find your science starters

  • distinguish between terms such as qualitative and quantitative data, subjective and objective information, and make observations

Thursday: August 13


  1. Welcome!

  2. Go over Syllabus, distribute supplies

  3. Activity: Thinking Like a Scientist

  4. Homework: go over your syllabus and have it signed by both you and a parent or guardian.

Friday: August 14


Science Starter: Each day we have a science starter. You can find it here if you are absent, otherwise, it will be posted on the board each day when you walk in. Be sure to write the DATE, the QUESTION, and YOUR ANSWER.
